Petrol Blue

July 31, 2017

The story behind this dress is very interesting, at least to me. It was made by my friend, who found this beautiful fabric in the store and because she liked the petrol colour so much, she made a dress for herself. A couple of years ago (I feel old now) I hosted a swap party. Basically, I invited my friends who had to bring some clothes which they weren't wearing anymore and we swapped. I picked up this dress from the pile because I liked the cut and the unique aspect of it. One year later I lent this dress back to the first owner and she wore it for her sister's wedding. After the event, she returned it back to me. Well, maybe is not a breathtaking story, but I like it and I wonder how many dresses you have that have similar stories?

You can see that the dress is very simple, square shaped. I like to add this silk belt, which actually belongs to another dress and I can create quite a few different looks with it. I like versatility because that means that I can wear it more often and don't get sick of it.

My advice to you is to be creative. Believe me! There are clothes in your closet which you can combine and add unexpected accessories in order to create completely different outfits. That is fun and the whole purpose of fashion, just have some fun.
